Well the time I have been waiting for all year long has finally arrived!
This post is more of a note to self, so that after this month, i know what i achieved
I'm so happy, honoured & thankful to be alive and given a chance to meet this holy month once more this year.
Well i have been a bad person
I have neglected my religion that i was lucky enough to be born in...
I have neglected my beloved creator...
I have smeared my beloved prophet's name...
Sins were my indulgence with Temptations as my fuel...
And this is my TRANSITION POINT.
i have vowed to myself, that i will change and repent from Today!
And God, help me cos my control is battered from the battle against satan and temptations of girls, gossip, judging etc.....
Please make me closer to you, cos i feel hollow and empty without you in my life.
And please guide me, my friends and all muslims in fulfilling their obligations amin.
Ramadhan is a special holy month in which the Quran is revealed to the Prophet.
Where muslims carry out the 4th principle of Islam=FASTING.
Which is an act of abstaining from eating or drinking and other temptations from the break of dawn till sunset. Fasting is intended to teach Muslims about patience, humility and spirituality and is a time for Muslims to fast for the sake of God.
During Ramadan, Muslims ask forgiveness for past sins, pray for guidance and help in refraining from everyday evils, and try to purify themselves through self-restraint and good deeds.
My aims:
- Don't miss any prayers
- Increase donations
- Visit the mosque everyday
- recite the Quran
- Go for more religious classes
- Read a book which i always wanted to read...(bout my prophet)
Tips for muslims:
My uztaz told me there are 3 types of fast,
Firstly, the fast in which a person gets ONLY hunger and thirst at the end of it
Second, the fast in which a person gets to protect all his 5 senses and abstain from all tempation, making him a better muslim *we all shld aim fr this*
The last, where a person fast, protects his 5 senses, abstain from sins & temptations; while Allah is always in his mind and tip of his tongue the whole period *only prophets and messengers could achieve*
- Give food to some fasting people to gain a reward similar to theirs
- Give a lot of charity for the best charity is that of Ramadhan
- Beware of spending your time without performing righteous deeds, for you will be responsible.
- eating the sahoor meal in the last part of the night before the appearance of Fajr.
- Hasten breaking your fast after the sun has truly set in order to gain the love of Allah
- Preserve your tongue from lying, cursing, backbiting and slander for it decreases the reward of fasting.
The moment of truth is here....lets see....Happy fasting everyone! :)
