polyforum 2010 update!

its been 1 week alredi!!!
They say time flies when youre having fun!
Its friday already and heres the end of an eyeopening rollercoster Pre-forum ride :)
Here are my new friends!!! they're damn fun la!!! and also, my facilatators are soooo nice and funny. They're from SP sadly haha

Today we ate at this student-operated restaurant at ngeeann poly; the PINES! its supppperrr delicious and worth it!!! value for money! i think im gonna eat there occasionally even aft this whole event ends

Heres a summary of my hectic week

Day 1- Icebreakers & Amazing race
Weird, Tiring and confusing and i didnt know what the day was for actly TILL NOW!....

Day 2- Talks and Trip to Jurong Island
The talks were damnnnn interesting by a leader which i knew beforehand, Mr gerard ee whi talked about the problems facing singapore and a "futurist" Mr Aaron Maniam who talked about what else but the FUTURE!!! *he came up with interesting ideas like memory augmentation pills and etc

Jurong island: you know what! Its really an eyeopener!!! i though jurong island=prison but its NOT despite having restricted access, it is quite occupied with many people and vehicles and lush greeneries and a PARK and shops! I visited a plant called Linde gas who were very hospitable! *(which was unexpected at first!) they were always smiling and never sigh whenever we asked seemingly obvious questions! they even gave us a really powerful magnet as a door gift :) also the beaches and view there looks really nice

Day 3-Talks & Trip to JTC/Fusionapolis/Biopolis
Ok today the talks are not really that interesting since its too complicated in economics and bioengineering fields which i know nothing about! but i learn a few stuffs nonetheless...

OK here comes the interesting part! THE TRIP!
I thought JTC=FACTORIES but nooooooo theyre much more than that even aviation hubs, clean tech hubs like alot la! and you know what! theyre even coming up with new innovation such as floating factories and underground storage for oil!!!
If you never been to fusionopolis u shld!!! its like the most beatiful building in singapore in my opinion which houses a the highest gym with a view and a state of the art theatre:)

Day 4-Talks
okay todays talks in by far the most interesting!!!!
we get to meet 4 interesting individuals!
1 from world toilet org (*very very very cool dude)
1 from today newspaper (*knowlegable person who helped alot in rethinking education)
1 from global search partners which is an international company focused on finding talents
1 is a popular motivational speaker (hes damn cute la)
so yeah this was the TRANSITION point to me....all of the sudden the whole forum became really insightful, helpful and interesting to me
This is accompanied to the fact ive adapted to travelling all the way to NP and adapted to my new friends

Day 5- Discussions
We came up with new wacky ideas of what the world will be in 2030 which is FUNNY! and some are pessimistic.
We even brainstormed ideas on how to improve the education system (*what u guys think about it now? ) and peeked into the future with a an audioconference as a teaching tool!
Also at the last part we came up with ideas on the new developing industries in careers for the future!!! MY TOPIC!!! please tag if you have an idea of new emerging careers which will be HOT by 2030 pleasseeeeee
we came up with cool jobs like vertical farming and space tourism!!!

Oh my! alot have changed! now i kinda think im enjoying this new experience as time pass!!!
Haha i know im a fickle confused individual!=at first complaint complaint BUT now say i like it! haha thats just me and its also suspenseful for you guys ryte?
i think all we need is time to get used to new norm, adapt to new people and places and everything will be all fine :) I hope time passes slowwer though, i would want to have more fun with my wacky sub grouppp!!!!!!
